In 2024 A MAZE. and Now Play This co-commissioned a work by bringing together London-based game designer Julia Makivic and Berlin-based weaver Emma Wood, resulting in Labyrinth.
Labyrinth is an interactive installation where players weave their own labyrinth, crossing paths before their own personal journey is revealed.
In this session A MAZE program curator Zuraida will have a conversation with Emma and Julia to talk about the process, the collaboration, observing people playing your work for the first time, bridging two different artistic worlds in one interactive installation and anything else that comes with creating a new work from scratch while you have never met your collaborator before.
